The Goods and Services Tax (GST) has revolutionized the Indian tax system by subsuming various indirect taxes into a single tax regime. An essential aspect of GST compliance is the proper issuance of GST bills or invoices. This article provides a detailed overview of the GST bill format, including the mandatory elements and best practices for creating a GST-compliant invoice.

A GST bill, also known as a GST invoice, is a document issued by a registered supplier to the recipient (buyer) showing the supply of goods and/or services, along with the amount of tax charged. It serves as a crucial record for both the supplier and the recipient for tax reporting purposes.
